Description

Enable transaction rollback?

•Check this box to enable the Rollback Feature that will reverse the updates to the database in the event that a transaction cannot be completed in its entirety. A “transaction” is a process that updates multiple tables, such as processing a PO that updates the open PO table, the item history, budgets, etc.

•Possible causes of transaction failure are power failures, network problems, incorrect user actions (e.g.re‑booting), operating system errors, etc.

•While Rollback provides an increased level of data security, the use of Rollback will impact system performance.

Enable priority/rush maintenance?

•Check this box to enable the Priority Maintenance Feature that will allow management users to suspend other users' work while certain maintenance functions take place.

•You can specify which users are permitted to use the Priority Maintenance feature in the User Master File.

Use network rights checking?  

•Do not change this setting unless advised by Technical Support.

Delete SPOOL files older than (months)

•SPOOL files are those that you access with Saved Reports and Files.

•Use this setting to conserve disk space by automatically deleting SPOOL files that are older than a certain number of months. Old files will be deleted as part of the full reindex procedure.

•A recommended value for most systems is 3-6 months. Enter ZERO (0) to disable (i.e. keep files forever unless manually deleted).

Path used for document attachments.

•You can specify an alternate path to use for document attachments (instead of the default /ATTACH folder).

Why can’t I change this setting (the field is not accessible)?
