SpendMap includes an internal messaging system that can either complement or replace the use of email when communicating with other SpendMap users.
Sending and Receiving Messages
You can send short messages (similar to email) to other users with Send/Broadcast a Message.
This may be easier than using an external email system as you can select users from the User Master File to send messages to (no need to maintain a list of email addresses externally).
Recipients can then read their messages with Read Your Messages or in their email software (see "Optional Email Integration", below).
Automatic Notifications
SpendMap can also send automatic notifications to users when certain events occur, such as an email to a manager to let them know that they need to approve a requisition, an email to the requisitioner if their request was rejected, an email to the Buyer if an invoice discrepancy needs their attention, etc.
Optional Email Integration
As an alternative to using the Read Your Messages Utility (which requires users to log in to the system to pick up their messages), internal messages and notifications can be delivered by email.
You can specify your message delivery preference in email settings.
